An 88-acre camping park with 6,180 feet of freshwater shoreline immediately east of the interstate. Named for its original peacefulness, the park has lost some of its reputation for quiet since the freeway went in. Still, the area possess great natural beauty and the noise of I-5 can be avoided by using the woodland campsites. The park provides access to the Lewis River approximately 2.5 miles upstream from the lower Columbia. The boat ramp is dirt and very primitive, and depending on water level may be difficult to use. Undeveloped primitive camping on land owned by the State of Oregon. No facilities. Tides are extreme and water levels can change quickly. Pay particular attention to choosing a campsite location with variable water levels in mind. Paddling near the mouth of the Columbia River can be extremely dangerous and is not recommended for any paddler is not an expert. Conditions can become dangerous vary quickly and the combination of an outgoing tide and the river's current can easily sweep a boat out to sea. A 75 acre public park on the Lower Columbia River an hour east of Long Beach and 45 minutes west of Longview, Washington. Vista Park offers sandy beaches, yurts, RV sites, day use and overnight camping. Tennis courts, a boat ramp and wonderful kayaking opportunities make it an idea family vacation spot. Vista park is a popular paddling spot with access to a wide variety of paddling experiences - from calm back water areas inside Brooks and Steamboat Slough to the larger waters of the mainstem Columbia River.

Entrance to the camping area adjacent to gap between Lord Island and Walker Island. Moderate Tidal Infulence (4ft or less). Campsite may only be accessible during lower water times.

No facilities or water. Primitive Leave No Trace Camping on small field protected by sand dunes from dredge spoils. Only camping avaible on Wallace Island. Moderate Tidal Influence (6ft or less). Environmental Notes: Follow Leave No Trace Guidelines. Fire not recommended, especially above the tide line. All except west end of the Wallace Island is part of Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for the Columbian White-tailed Deer. Access is limited to sandy beaches on western portion of the island. CoHo Charters and Motel is a located along Howerton Way at the Port of Ilwaco Marina. While the motel mostly caters to those going fishing with Coho charters, rooms can be available for non-fishing stay. Online reservations are not available. Please call 360-642-3333 to book a room.
