This report summarizes results from a four-year study of the physical oceanography of the Columbia River Estuary. Work was carried out in six areas: theory of estuarine circulation, tidal processes, system energetics, salinity distribution, salt transport, and low-frequency flow processes. The research reported here was funded primarily by the Columbia River Estuary Data Development Program (CREDDP).
