Shauna Hanisch-Kirkbride is the Vancouver Field Office Manager for the Washington State Department of Ecology. Prior to joining Ecology in 2023, she was the Managing Director of Lower Columbia Fish Enhancement Group. Other positions include teaching environmental science at a small college in Michigan and nearly a decade with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Arlington, Virginia working on management of double-crested cormorants. As an avid animal lover, she and her husband have fostered many dogs for local rescues and currently volunteer monthly for The Pongo Fund pet food bank in Portland. She holds a BS in Wildlife Biology from The University of Montana, a Master of Public Administration from Boise State University, and a PhD in Fisheries & Wildlife from Michigan State University.
