The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership works to protect and restore the nationally significant lower Columbia River estuary with on-the-ground improvements, information, and education programs. We support our partners existing efforts and work to build capacity and leverage resources. Our main programs are Monitoring, Habitat Restoration, and Education.
Our Work on the River
We work with partners to better understand river conditions and to evaluate trends and impacts of actions over time. Our programs include water quality monitoring and ecosystem monitoring. We also collect data layers to characterize components of the Columbia River estuary.
Our Habitat Restoration Program works to restore tidal wetlands and other key habitats in the lower 146 miles of the Columbia River. We collaborate with partners to implement scientifically sound projects that support ESA listed and other native species.
We provide free science education classroom and outdoor programs to k-16 schools. Our goals are to increase knowledge and appreciation for the Columbia River estuary.
