  • Directions: Take Exit 44 off I-84 in Oregon and cross The Bridge of the Gods to the Washington side. Turn right and head east on Highway 14 for 1.5 miles. Turn left on Rock Creek Drive. The museum is a short distance on the right, across from Skamania Lodge.

This museum, operated by the Skamania County Historical Society, features eleven thousand square feet of exhibits that explain the natural and cultural history of southern Washington and the Columbia River Gorge. Native American history, the Lewis and Clark expedition, the role of Japanese immigrants, and logging, fire, fishing, hydroelectric, and river transportation history are explained and interpreted in award-winning displays designed by Jean Jacques Andre of Victoria, British Columbia.
