The 17th Street Dock is part of the Astoria Waterfront, which receives a fair amount of local and tourist foot traffic. It is located next to the Columbia River Maritime Museum, and is where visiting cruise liners and other ships brought in by the Museum are tied up. Previous visitors include the Sea Bird and the Empress of the North.
The City of Astoria is in discussions as of 2020 to lease the eastern portion of the dock to American Cruise Lines.
