Aubrey joined the Estuary Partnership in August 2019 and works closely with the Executive Director and other senior level managers on a variety of program-wide tasks to carry out the goals of the organization. She serves on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Steering Team, helps to plan events and meetings, and ensures that day-to-day office operations run smoothly. Before coming to the Estuary Partnership, Aubrey taught Linguistics, Spanish, and English as a Second Language at the University of New Mexico. During that time, she was the Faculty Liaison Officer, a board member, and Editor-In-Chief for the 11th High Desert Linguistics Society, its Conference, and Proceedings, respectively. She also has experience as a linguistics field researcher in Bogotá, Colombia and the southwest US and worked as a medical interpreter in Michigan. Aubrey holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of New Mexico, an MA in Spanish Linguistics from the University of New Mexico, a BA in Spanish from Grand Valley State University, and a BBA in International Business and Economics from Grand Valley State University. In addition to her dissertation, Aubrey has published articles in academia and the business world as well as poetry. Aubrey is also a 200 RYT certified hot yoga and yin yoga instructor and teaches locally. Being from the Great Lakes, Aubrey feels a personal connection to water and has a strong passion for protecting and conserving all the life it supports.
