Simple ways to help the estuary and the rivers and streams that lead to it include:
- Learn more and get involved with groups working to protect our streams and rivers. Find a group in your community.
- Reduce the amount of chemicals used in your home and around your yard. King County illustrates how.
- Dispose of chemicals properly. Visit the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality or Washington Department of Ecology for more information.
- Drop off your unused medications at an appropriate site in Oregon or Washington instead of flushing them down the toilet or tossing them in the garbage.
