Nick Southall

Principal Watershed Ecologist - Temporary Appointment

Nick first joined the Estuary Partnership in 2017 to manage two Lower Columbia restoration projects, and joined again in 2018. Nick has worked extensively throughout the Columbia River Basin for twenty years. He has overseen design and construction for multiple river and wetland restoration projects, ranging from Eastern Oregon’s tributaries to the Coast Range systems. Prior to joining the Estuary Partnership, Nick served as the Senior Conservation Director for The Freshwater Trust, overseeing their habitat restoration, flow restoration, and monitoring teams. Nick gained valuable experience working with Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inter-fluve, a regional design build contractor, and, more recently, Southall Environmental. Nick received a M.S. in Integrated Environmental Studies from the University of Southampton, England and a B.S. in Physical Geography from the University of Leeds.
