Comments:
For a site in close proximity to the Willamette River, OMSI developed a parking lot where a series of vegetated swales capture stormwater runoff from the parking lot. These densely vegetated swales incorporate a variety of trees, grasses, and shrubs. Small check dams slow and spread the flow. Cuts in the curbs allow stormwater to enter the swales.

Comments:
A grassy swale at a Bally’s Fitness parking area captures stormwater runoff from the parking lot. Swales can be a variety of different sizes and include many different planting schemes. Water enters this swale from the ends as well as small curb cuts.
